Curriculum

The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) examination is an examination conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations. It has been designed to provide an examination in a course of general education, in accordance with the recommendations of the New Education Policy 1986 (India), through the medium of English.

ICSE is one of the toughest education boards in India. They conduct Std.X and Std.XII exams every year. The examination allows secure suitable representation of Governments responsible for schools (which are affiliated to it) in their States/Territories.

Std. X

The school prepares students for the ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education) Examination. The Examination is taken at the end of Std. 10.

For the ICSE Examination the following subjects have to be taken:

Part 1

Compulsory
1. English Language & Literature
2. Second Language
3. History, Civics & Geography

Part 2

4. Mathematics
5. Science

Part 3

6. Physical Education, or
7. Economic Applications or
8. Computer Applications or
9. Commercial Applications

Requests for second language exemption / change will not be entertained.

Std. XII

The School also prepares students for the ISC (Indian School Certificate) Examination. The Examination is taken at the end of Std. XII.

For the ISC Examination, the following streams and subjects are offered by the School :

Science

English
Physics
Chemistry
Mathematics
Optionals : Biology or Computer Science
Second Language : Kannada or Hindi, if required.

Commerce

English
Accounts
Commerce
Economics
Optionals : Mathematics or Business Studies

Second Language : Kannada or Hindi, if required. Note : Second Language is optional. Students should verify the need for Second Language for admission into their planned programme of study and chosen field (after completion of Std. XII) with the University concerned.
