The Model United Nations

The Model United Nations (MUN) club that started last year, 2012-2013, aims at inculcating the quality of expressing opinions in a constructive and accountable manner. It helps each student speak and therefore, debate about various issues that impact the world today. With a total strength of 30, students of the MUN club have successfully represented the school in various national and international MUNs across India such as Harvard MUN, Dhirubhai Ambani MUN, Cathedral MUN, Shishugrah MUN and TISB MUN that have gained accolades. During each MUN session students are given specific agenda where they debate and pass a resolution at the end of each session.

MUN procedures are strictly followed. During every MUN session, students have been provided with a global crisis which is dealt with in the best possible manner. Topics generally given to students diversify from terrorism and counter terrorism threats in the Middle East to assessment of transnational illicit drug trafficking. Other topics covered as a part of MUN discussions are economy of East Africa, military situation in Korean peninsula, NATO sharing policy, implications of employing children in hazardous professions, etc. Being a part of MUN empowers the students to overcome their stage fright and hones their debating skills to shape a better future ahead.
