Thereafter, we all gathered at the auditorium and were given a warm welcome and an insight into the functioning of the school. The guest speakers, Dr. Shailaja Shastri and Mrs. Nisha Menzies Rao spoke about knowing one’s limits and making sure that our physical, material, mental and emotional boundaries are strong and firm. They stressed on ‘peer pressure’ and the ways in which one must learn to resist such pressures.

Mr. Robin Colaco, coordinator of the ISC section, briefed the students on the syllabus, the examination pattern and the state of the art facilities in the school as well as the major achievements of SJBHS. We considered ourselves to be the chosen few to be receiving an education of such high standards.

On the following day, it was the turn of our parents to be addressed by Dr. Shailaja Shastry, who spoke on teenagers today, the role of parents the activities of the school.
