PTA ( Parent Teacher Association ) 2014 - 15
PTA Annual General Body Meeting
The universal truth is ‘dynamism in the cosmos’ and so it is at SJBHS. Each year gives way to the next and so does each PTA AGM. The Parents – Teachers – guardians Association at SJBHS is renowned for its strength, forethought, in depth planning and judicious use of resources – all for the benefit of the students and the glory of SJBHS.
The AGM 2014-15 convened with the arrival of the Chief Guest and speaker, Dr. Debmita Dutta MBBS, MD; Rev.
Fr. Clifford Sequeira SJ, Principal of SJBHS and ex – officio President of the PTA;
Vice Principals of SJBHS, Mrs. Miriam Angelo and Rev. Fr. Sunil Fernandes SJ; Mr. Vinay Mruthunjaya Vice President of the PTA; Mrs. Kavitha Muthappa, Secretary of the PTA and the members of the Executive Committee of the PTA (2014-15).
The Invocation song by the teachers of SJBHS bore testimony to the fact that God’s presence at the onset of any event at SJBHS is not by choice or by chance but by necessity.
The notice convening the PTA AGM along with the reading and adoption of the Annual report as presented by the Secretary of the Executive Committee of the PTA highlighted the myriad activities of the PTA right across the academic year 2014-15.
Rev. Fr. Clifford Sequeira SJ, warmly welcomed the chief guest, members of the Executive Committee of the PTA, parents, guardians and teachers and at the same time introduced the chief guest to the audience.
The Vice President of the PTA, Mr. Mruthunjaya presented the Statement of Accounts for the year 2014-15 while congratulating the Principal and staff of SJBHS for the culmination of another academic year which saw results par excellence on the academic, sports and co-curricular front.
The Chief Guest Dr. Debmita Dutta, MBBS, M.D., threw light on the burning topic of Gen X, “Effective Parenting’, as being a serious mix of ‘nature’ and ‘nurture’ where ‘challenges’ should be the order of the day not ‘threats’. She reinforced the famous adage that ‘presence’ can never be replaced by ‘presents’.
After the audience interaction with the knowledgeable parenting and wellness consultant, the PTA AGM 2014-15 was brought to a close with the Vote of Thanks and the National Anthem.
